| Description | Sir Syed Ahmad Khan a great social reformer, started the Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College (MAO College), in 1875. In 1920, the College was converted into a full fledged University by an act of Parliament.
The Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET) was founded on 21st November 1938. It is named after a great scholar of AMU and the former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain.
